The photographs in this series, taken across various parts of America and Europe, explore a type of urban 'non-place', often featuring strange and sometimes uncanny arrangements of gardens, plants and greenery. Non-places, unlike places, are often characterised as transient, homogeneous, and lacking a sense of identity and belonging, and yet they are familiar. This body of work considers how photographic images, including the computer-generated image contribute to a 'non-place' aesthetic and culture, and by doing so, create an identifiable and meaningful 'place'.
